South Yuba River SP Volunteer Information
Interested in volunteering at the South Yuba River State Park?
We have a wide array of volunteer activities at South Yuba River:
Volunteers give tours of our historic buildings, including our namesake bridge, and its associated barn and gas station. All these buildings are set up as museums with information and artifacts that are period appropriate. We also have a small cemetery, with graves dating back to the first families that settled here in the Gold Rush.
If you prefer nature, we have thriving guided wildflower walks, geology hikes, bird walks, trail hikes, and gold panning during the summer.
If you are a people person, and like answering questions, giving information and directions, then maybe you would enjoy working in our Visitor’s Center, or giving school tours for 4th graders learning about California Gold Rush History.
We do also have occasional large park events, so if you don’t have the ability to volunteer all the time, even helping out with one or two activities would be greatly appreciated.
You can always try out different things until you find your niche, or if you are interested in something that isn’t listed here, we are always interested in offering new programs to our visitors.
We look forward to seeing you in the park!
