Archaeological Technicians

Archaeological Technicians complete cultural resource management work in the Colorado Desert District which includes Palomar Mountain State Park, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and Anza Borrego Desert State Park.  Archaeological Technicians must attend a 6-week training consisting of one lecture and one field day a week and commit to completing 40 hours of work a year.  Training is offered every year to every 2 years depending on interest and need. Cultural Resource Management work may be assisting with archaeological survey, excavation or monitoring, cataloguing archaeological collections, helping with public outreach events to educate the public about cultural resources and more.
