Anza-Borrego Desert SP Camp Host
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
Enjoy beautiful weather, desert wildflowers and the possibility of spotting big horn sheep in this large campground and day use area located at the base of Borrego Palm Canyon. Camp host positions also available at the Tamarisk Grove and Bow Willow campgrounds. Volunteers perform traditional host duties include registering campers, collecting fees, conducting camp checks, staffing the entrance station, selling firewood, and some housekeeping duties. This busy campground and day use area is a great winter host opportunity for active volunteers. Full hook-ups sites are provided for hosts and cell service is available. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Vern Whitaker Horse Camp
The horse camp offers a unique camp host opportunity on the edge of Coyote Canyon with incredible views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. The campground has 10 sites with corrals for park visitors to camp with horses, as well as a day use area. There are many riding and hiking opportunities in the area and horse trails can be accessed directly from the camp. This semi-remote campground offers traditional host duties, including registering campers, collecting fees, answering questions, some light housekeeping, and the opportunity to assist with special projects. A full hook-up site is provided for the host. Vern Whitaker Horse Camp is located approximately 8 miles north of the town of Borrego Springs, including 3 miles of dirt road to access the camp.
