Benicia State Recreation Area Garden Volunteer

The Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Garden is a thriving environment enjoyed by all who visit Benicia State Recreation Area. Volunteers undertake a variety of responsibilities in helping to maintain the garden.

Common tasks include pulling weeds, trimming bushes and other plants, spreading wood chips, fixing drip lines and for those with training weed whipping areas. Volunteers often meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays in the morning but can also create their own schedule and volunteer when available.

This garden maintains blooms almost all year and is a great way for those who enjoy working with their hands and being outside to get involved and join an esteemed team of people.
