Sinkyone Wilderness SP Camp Host
Needle Rock Visitor's Center
A unique camp hosting experience awaits you at Sinkyone Wilderness State Park, along the lost coast. The Needle Rock Visitor's Center is a rural camp hosting experience that is not for everyone: You must have a 4WD vehicle. Hosts will assist with backcountry campsite and day-use registration, provide visitor information and perform light maintenance when needed. Camp hosts live in provided accommodations behind the visitor's center. The visitor's center is approximately 1-1/2 hours from town, on a dirt road. The oceanfront vista and roaming Roosevelt Elk make up for the lengthy trip to the grocery store. Please note: Sinkyone Wilderness does not have cell phone service nor internet. Camp hosts are required to volunteer at least 30 days, working 20-30 hours per week - including weekends.
