Jenner Visitor Center
The Jenner Visitor Center is situated on the Russian River estuary in the heart of Jenner. In 1996, Stewards took over the staffing of the JVC. The Russian River estuary and Sonoma Coast State Park offer extraordinary opportunities to experience nature at its finest. It is not unusual to see harbor seals, river otters, an occasional sea lion or elephant seal swimming in the estuary. The bird life visible from the deck is prolific, with ospreys, Great Blue Herons, egrets, turkey vultures, pelicans, gulls, cormorants, and many shorebirds.
Tasks: Volunteering at the visitor center is a great opportunity to share information with people from all over the world, share your love of the coast, and meet new people. Volunteers provide visitors with park information and sell interpretive merchandise. The proceeds from the merchandise benefit the work that Stewards does to support the park.
Volunteers staff the center year-round, seven days a week from 11 AM – 3 PM.
