Health Promotion Advocate


The Cancer Society’s mission is to improve community well-being by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer, and our advocacy team is at the heart of this.


As a Health Promotion Advocate, you will be part of our equity focused Health Promotion Team working to promote our evidence-based prevention strategies, and stopping cancer before it starts.


Are you:


  • Passionate about advocating for the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn
  • Competent with Social Media
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic team environment


Some of the exciting things you can choose to be a part of include:


  • Promote our key health promotion messages at events
  • Support Petitions and submissions around our key messages
  • Speak at events from time to time as required around our key messages.
  • Engage with a wide range of community groups
  • Sharing our campaigns on social media or through your local media
  • Engage with local politicians and decision makers


Hours: This will depend on how much time you can commit, so hours are variable.
