Accommodation Host
Purpose of Position
To provide a positive and supportive experience for guests during their stay at Margaret Stewart House.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Welcome and orientation of new guests
- Assist with maintaining a clean and tidy environment
- Assistance with guest activities
- Engage in conversation or sensitive listening with guests
- Refer any issues or concerns, medical or nursing questions, particularly regarding guests, to the Accommodation manager/supervisor
- Facilitate access to Cancer Society Information and Support Services, and maintain Cancer Society promotional material
- Assist with administration duties as required
- Maintain professional integrity at all times, with a positive attitude
- Comply with the relevant policies and procedures of the Cancer Society while on duty
- Other tasks as reasonably negotiated

Hours required
This role is managed on a roster, with hours allocated according to the volunteer’s availability.

- Orientation, ongoing training and regular communications with the team (including face-to-face updates)
- Support and guidance provided whenever on duty
- Volunteer identification to be worn whenever on duty
