Transport to Treatment Client Driver - Hamilton and Te Awamutu

Going through a cancer treatment journey is tough, but you can help make it a little easier.

This special role provides a door-to-door service that is super appreciated by clients – assisting people with cancer by driving them to Waikato Hospital or other medical centres for their cancer treatment, picking people up from their home and returning them once their appointment is over.

This takes a lot of stress out of their treatment journey.  Not having to cope with traffic, parking and navigation issues eases the burden people face on a regular basis.  We do have your safety in our best interest, so we have guidance and safety measures in place.

We are currently looking for more Transport to Treatment Drivers to assist clients in Te Awamutu, and in West and South Hamilton.

Being organised, reliable and punctual, with strong communication skills, are must-have qualities for our drivers, as you’ll need to liaise with clients about collection and drop off times and to connect in with the driving team to make sure that every assignment runs smoothly.

Hours:  It usually takes between 2-3 hours per assignment, mostly within usual business hours.

Resources:

  • Orientation and training
  • Support and guidance provided whenever needed
  • Volunteer identification, to be worn when on duty
  • Contribution towards travel expenses
  • Clear communication and service updates when required

The time and support you are able to give people is hugely valued by those we transport.
