DOG WALKING & ENRICHMENT VOLUNTEER
ENRICHING LIVES, ONE PAW AT A TIME!
As a Dog Walking and Enrichment Volunteer, you will provide exercise, affection, and socialization to the dogs and puppies in our care. Your responsibilities will include teaching them basic skills, using positive reinforcement techniques, as well as monitoring and reporting any medical or behavioural changes as needed.
In this role, you will have a meaningful impact on their physical and mental well-being, reducing emotional stress and lowering their risk of illness, while promoting their overall health and happiness!
KEY DUTIES INCLUDE
- Walk/play/Groom with dogs/puppies utilizing proper handling techniques and positive reinforcement.
- Socialize shy dogs/puppies.
- Clean and disinfect dog areas and supplies following all biosecurity protocols, including wearing required PPE (e.g., gloves, gowns, masks).

POSITION REQUIRMENTS
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Able to commit to at least 1 shift (2-3 hours) per week for a minimum of 4 months.
- Comfortable caring for and interacting with dogs and puppies of various breeds and temperaments.
- Able to use an app or website to manage your volunteer experience and log hours.
