CLINIC VOLUNTEER

As a Clinic Volunteer with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, you will gain hands-on experience in a veterinary clinic while supporting the health and wellbeing of animals in our care. Responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and following infection control protocols. This role is ideal for individuals interested in animal care, veterinary medicine, or public health. Comprehensive training and PPE are provided to ensure a safe and positive experience.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE

Assisting with laundry, folding, sorting, and storing.

Assisting with monitoring animals in our care following surgery report concerns to medical staff.

Maintain cleanliness of treatment tables, floors, and common areas, kennels, cages, and animal housing areas.

Prepare and wrap surgical packs (as trained).

POSITION REQUIRMENTS

15 years of age or older.

Able to commit to at least 1 shift (2-3 hours) per week for a minimum of 4 months.

Shifts take place on weekdays Mondays to Fridays – no evenings or weekends

Ability to use an app or website to manage your volunteer schedule and log your volunteer hours.

Ability to follow all biosecurity protocols, including wearing PPE (i.e. gloves, gowns, masks, etc.), as required.
