Each week, we welcome community partners—including food banks, rescues, and non-profit organizations—to our Barrie storage location to pick up pet food and essential supplies for the families and animals they support. Our partners travel from near and far—from Richmond Hill all the way to Sudbury—to access this vital resource.
Appointments are scheduled in advance, allowing us to stay organized and ensure a smooth, efficient distribution process.
How you can help:
🐾 On-Site Volunteers
Assist with preparing and distributing pet food to our community partners during scheduled pick-up times.
🚚 Volunteer Drivers
Approximately once per month, we coordinate larger food pickups from locations such as Elora, Mississauga, and Georgetown. Drivers help transport donated pet food (often multiple skids) back to our Barrie facility using a rented U-Haul.
Volunteer drivers must
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a record that does not increase our insurance premiums.
- A valid Full G Ontario Driver's License: A, AZ or D license would be an asset.
- Experience driving a large truck with a trailer or a large van is an asset.
- Comfortable driving on the 400 series highways and in isolated areas.
- Ability to use an app or website to manage your volunteer experience.
