ENRICHMENT AND CENTRE SUPPORT VOLUNTEER

In this role volunteers will have the opportunity to divide their time between animal enrichment and centre support. This role plays a vital role in the daily operations of the centre and directly impacts on the well-being of our animals.
Centre Support: This is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work, have an eye for detail, and don’t mind getting a little messy. You will help maintain a safe and clean environment, preventing the spread of disease and ensuring our animals stay healthy and comfortable. Your tasks may include:
- Washing dishes, doing laundry, sweeping, and mopping
- Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, runs, litter boxes, and more
Animal Enrichment Volunteer: If you love spending time with animals, this role is for you. You will directly interact with our animals, providing enrichment and socialization that improves their mental and physical well-being. Your efforts will help reduce stress, strengthen their immune system, and enhance their overall happiness.
Tasks include:
- Playing, walking, grooming, training, and socializing with animals
- Creating food puzzles and offering enrichment toys
- Cleaning and disinfecting animal spaces and enrichment items

POSITION REQUIRMENTS
- Must be 15 years of age or older and Able to commit to at least one shift (2-3 hours) per week for a minimum of 4 months.
- Comfortable caring for and interacting with animals of all breeds and temperaments.
- Ability to log volunteer hours and manage schedules online or via app.
- Willing to adhere to all biosecurity protocols, including wearing necessary PPE (such as gloves, gowns, masks, etc.) when required
- Ability to lift 13.6 kg (30lbs) and to stand for long periods
