Emergency Relief Support Volunteer
Purpose
QLD Emergency Relief Program provide support to walk in clients and families.
The Emergency Relief Support Volunteer will work alongside ER Officer to help manage
and/or assess financial relief request
Tasks
- Welcoming clients who are visiting the SSI Gateway office
- Assist in assessing emergency relief requests from walk in clients
- Document client data and provide food hampers or vouchers
- Assist with administration and emailing of documents
- Put food hampers together
- Assist in directing clients to appropriate internal and external services as needed
Skills Required
- Friendly, patient and empathetic
- Good admin skills (Updating spreadsheets, collecting Centrelink details from Clients, photocopying documentations/receipts)
- Knowledge of psychological and environmental factors which influence financial hardship in the local community
