Reading Buddies - Program Leader
Be a role model to a young reader! This is a great leadership opportunity for high school students committed to sharing their passion for learning with children. You will be responsible for creating a positive experience, sharing your enthusiasm for learning and engaging participants in reading and literacy based activities.
If you are interested to volunteer as a Reading Buddies Program Leader volunteer, make sure to indicate it as an "General Interest" under "My profile". New volunteers are required to sign-up and attend an interview, you will be interviewed for the position(s) that interest you. Successful candidates need to complete the online General Orientation Workshop and provide a recent Police Check (VSC) as outlined at www.markham.ca/volunteering. Once you meet the 3 minimum requirements (interview, General Orientation Workshop and VSC) you will be able to see and schedule yourself for the opportunities we offer.
