Street Outreach - Chermside - All Saints Anglican Church Monday

ROSIES 

BRISBANE NORTH

Our Brisbane North Branch has been serving the community since 2018, offering friendship and meaningful connection two nights a week. Brisbane North also hosts the monthly Aspley BBQ on the first Sunday of every month.

This branch is led by our Branch Coordinator Jane Ireland.

Monday:       5:30pm - 9:30pm

 

Rosies is seeking volunteers to assist with Street Outreaches. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role regularly participate in:

  • Assist the team in packing van
  • Preparing tea/coffee/food in readiness for outreach
  • Speaking with patrons to build rapport and relationships
  • Serve tea/coffee/noodles/other food on street outreach
  • Pack-up, cleaning and other duties after each outreach
  • Participate in a briefing and debriefing process
  • Observe Health and Safety practices, reporting to the Team Leader any hazards or incidents during outreach
  • Exemplify the values of Rosies at all times

To fulfil this role, it is essential to have:

  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Rapport and empathy building skills
  • Desirable:  conflict de-escalation skills

Minimum outreach engagement is 4 hours every 4 weeks.
