The Sacramento History Museum
The Sacramento History Museum – is located in Old Sacramento at 101 I Street. The Museum offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. The museum is always looking for qualified docents to present our numerous Education Programs to visiting schools and public groups, as well as assist with special events, like our annual Gold Rush Days weekend and Free Museum Day. Museum docents are encouraged to have weekday availability, specifically mornings and afternoons. There is a mandatory docent training session held each fall. We do not currently offer a student docent program or short term docent opportunities. We require at least a one year commitment with a minimum of 20 hours per year.
