Mid-Century Modern Historic Surveyor

Sacramento Modern, a nonprofit agency, is working with the City of Sacramento and the City’s historic evaluators on a project studying the built environment from around 1940 - 1970. Once completed, this project aims to:

 1) identify the different key features, characteristics, and types of mid-20th century modernism seen in the City of Sacramento; 2) grant historical recognition to several key mid-20th century modern places within the City of Sacramento.

Volunteers will serve as surveyors and will be trained to correctly identify architectural features and characteristics relevant to the project and will also receive training on the use of the City's digital applications for recording and documenting their field work.
