Off-Leash Ambassador Program
Love dogs, parks, and meeting people? The Off-Leash Ambassador Program is a unique volunteer opportunity that allows you to volunteer alongside your own dog while promoting responsible pet ownership in Calgary's 160 off-leash parks.
Off-Leash Ambassadors are positive ambassadors for the City of Calgary. Through positive interactions, OLA volunteers help park users understand local bylaws and resources.
Ambassadors:
- Promote responsible pet ownership and pet safety
- Answer questions about Calgary's off-leash bylaws
- Model positive behaviour in off-leash areas
- Share information and resources with park users
- Pass along community concerns to City staff
- Help raise awareness of Calgary Animal Services programs, including licensing and pet adoption
Ambassadors receive online training covering bylaws, canine body language, and effective communication strategies.
