Inpatient Unit (IPU) Receptionist

The purpose of the Reception role is to provide a professional welcome to all Mary Potter Hospice visitors, ensure timely and professional telephone service, and to support the Clinical Administrator as required.
Currently recruiting for:
- Saturday evenings (4pm-7pm), once every 2 weeks OR 4 weeks.
Key Tasks
- Ensure all visitors are greeted in a friendly and professional manner and provided with any help necessary to assist their visit to the Hospice.
- Ensure all incoming phone calls are attended to in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Accurately record all phone messages for staff and patients and pass these on promptly to the person concerned.
- Ensure the reception area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Perform other administrative tasks that may from time to time be required.
Key Competencies
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to remain calm
- A warm and professional manner on the phone and in person
- Well presented, reliable and punctual
- Able to use initiative and prioritise tasks
- High degree of integrity and ability to maintain patient and whānau confidentiality
- Proven successful reception and telephone experience desired but not essential
- Follow Mary Potter Hospice's policies and procedures
- Has an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi
- Police Vetting is required for this role
Hours
3 - 4 hours; Regular rostered shifts; Fortnightly
- Morning: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Monday, Saturday & Sunday only)
- Afternoon: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (Monday – Sunday)
- Evening: 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (Monday – Sunday)
