Community Environment Centre Volunteer

The Community Environment Centre (CEC) provides a valuable community resource, offering on-site demonstration facilities, information and research materials, workshops and practical information sessions for the benefit of local residents.

The CEC features a large native garden, an organic vegetable garden and water and energy saving installations. All these sites contain displays and interpretative signage designed to encourage sustainable practices and community action. The CEC provides information about existing government rebates and grants on energy and water saving opportunities. The CEC provides a program of community workshops focused on saving water, sustainable energy use, conservation of biodiversity and organic gardening. There is the option for training involving the conducting of bush walks, sustainable house tours and other off site visits and the delivery of workshop presentations.

Volunteers will assist and support the team across a variety of different work areas to provide an engaging learning environment for visitors.
