Hills Youth Army

The Hills Youth Army

"The Hills Youth Army (HYA) aims to involve youth in their community through volunteer initiatives, community participation and connections with other youth worldwide.”

The Hills Youth Army is dedicated to empowering young people aged 13-25 through volunteer opportunities and connections with their local community. HYA was founded in 2014 for local dedicated youth who have an interest in giving back to their community. The HYA aim is to bridge the gap between young people and Council whilst also providing opportunities for youth to become involved in their community through volunteering.

Since its creation, the Hills Youth Army has supported community events such as Orange Blossom Festival, Paws in the Park, Hills Relay for Life, Mental Health Campaigns, The Mayoral Sleep-out, and Australia Day to name a few. Local organisations interested in getting members of the Hills Youth Army to provide volunteer assistance should contact The Hills Shire Council on the details below.

All HYA volunteers are trained by The Hills Shire Council and all events are covered by Hills Shire Council's insurance policy. HYA volunteer activities can also be used for all levels of Duke of Edinburgh, school community and service programs and event management.

HYA will provide all youth programs and activities throughout the year in conjunction with The Hills Shire Council's Community Development team..

HYA is a program for young people. We are completely open to all suggestions, ideas and contributions. We are an organisation committed to supporting community initiatives that benefit everyone.
