Group Support Volunteer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver a variety of recovery based support groups and/or cafes for With You. Volunteers will help to ensure our groups run in an effective and respectful manner where clients are able to fully engage in different types of recovery options. 

Volunteers will receive full training and ongoing support that will be tailored to enable them to help deliver a wide range of group activities such as Art groups or Community Cafe’s. Volunteers may do this with a member of staff or alongside other volunteers.

 

Location and Time Commitment

  • Cornwall
  • Flexible hours between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Groups

  • Ensuring that the room is set up and ready with everything that is needed for the session, and tidied away afterwards

  • Running each session alongside another volunteer or member of staff 

  • Ensuring all attendees are able to feel safe and welcome and able to participate as much as is possible

  • Keeping accurate records of attendance

Cafe

  • Ensuring that there is appropriate food and drinks available

  • Gaining Food Hygiene certification (if appropriate)

  • Creating a safe environment with other activities (such as art and crafts) where possible

  • Ensuring the room is tidied afterwards and ready for the next groups

  • Raising any potential safeguarding concerns with appropriate members of staff

Please note that we require you to be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for this volunteering role

 

This role is subject to Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced Level
