Recovery Support Volunteer

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to volunteer alongside our Recovery team to make a real difference in people’s lives and gain experience in the substance misuse field.

As part of the team you will be helping to provide support, information and advice to our clients in relation to substance misuse through 1-1 interventions.

 

Location and Time Commitment

  • Cornwall
  • Flexible hours between 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supporting Recovery Workers to provide advice on treatment options and harm reduction at initial stages of client engagement.  

  • Assisting and carrying out screening processes including urine, saliva and breath tests

  • Actively promoting and be part of developing recovery activities and events

  • Providing notes of sessions to be input onto a case management system

  • Sitting in on client sessions with a member of staff (where appropriate) to provide support & advice.

  • Raising any potential safeguarding concerns with appropriate members of staff

Please note that we require you to be a minimum of 18 years of age to be considered for this volunteering role

This role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced Level
