Volunteer Counsellor

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide counselling for individuals who are directly and indirectly affected by alcohol and substance use.

Under the supervision of the Counselling Lead you will help individuals to work through their concerns and assist them with deciding on an appropriate course of action.

To be considered for this role you must fall within 1 of the 2 groups highlighted below

Counselling students:

Completing mandatory counselling hours as part of a level 2 or above counselling qualification. Engaging with the Counselling Supervisor and completing reports and paperwork.   

Qualified counsellors

Offering counselling to Clients and taking part in supervision with the Counselling Supervisor. 

 

Location and Time Commitment

  • Cornwall
  • Flexible hours between 9-5pm, Monday to Friday

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Undertaking counselling interventions, adhering to With You and BACP guidelines, on a one-to-one basis with clients 

  • Ensuring case notes are taken for each session and recorded in line with We are With You’s policies and procedures

  • Raising any potential safeguarding concerns with appropriate members of staff

  • Attending counselling supervision meetings
