Criminal Justice Support Volunteer
Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to volunteer alongside our Criminal Justice team to make a real difference in people’s lives and gain experience in the substance misuse/ criminal justice field. As part of the team you will provide support to our clients, helping them work towards their goals to cut down their drug or alcohol use and minimise risky behaviour. Volunteers may work in a 1-1 or group based setting with clients, helping them to take a holistic approach to their recovery journey.
Time commitment: flexible, within Monday-Friday, 9-5.
This role is based at ROADS, Carnson House, Rotherham.
What will you be doing?

Supporting 1-2-1 sessions providing advice on harm minimisation and recovery planning

Opportunity to support in the delivery of group-based sessions as a co-facilitator.

Work with clients to build and maintain their recovery capital and work towards meeting their treatment goals, both at ROADS and at probation services.

Assist and carry out screening processes including urine, saliva and breath tests

Actively promote and be part of developing recovery activities and events

Perform recovery check-ins and aftercare support for those nearing the end of their treatment pathways
