Welcome to Sense Volunteering

Sense Fundraising Group - Member

Sense Fundraising Group Member

Are you looking for an opportunity to connect with your local community and meet new people?

If so, volunteering as a member of your local Sense Fundraising Group is the role for you!

Volunteering is a great opportunity for you to be part of your local community whilst gaining experience in planning and running events, and developing your skills around creativity, teamwork, and organisation.

From coming up with ideas about new fundraising activities, to planning and making these activities happen, this is a fun and varied role. If you are enthusiastic, motivated and enjoy interacting with others, this role would suit you.

“Our Fundraising Groups are really important to Sense, being our local ambassadors for the charity and allowing us to tell the story of the people we support to even more people. Every single one of our Fundraising Group members is vital to creating amazing events and activities, each one bringing new and unique ideas that makes each Fundraising Group unique.” Jenny, Head of Events & Community.

Your time is precious, so we will talk about the time commitment you are able to make. Your safety is important to us and we’ll work together to make your activities covid-secure; supporting your group in developing virtual activities and socially distanced ways to engage with your community. You will be provided with full training for your role. We are here to support you to make your fundraising group a success!

Sense is committed to providing equality of opportunity for everyone we work with. Everyone's contribution is valued, and we welcome applications from people from all sections of the community who share our values and belief in our mission. Megan used to be social and active having attended many family days with her Mum, Dad and Sister. As the lockdown took hold, her opportunity to socialise slipped away as the family shielded themselves to protect her.

Sense has been able to provide support to Megan and the whole family while keeping socially distant and safe. Megan has been able to attend her favourite sessions over video conferencing including sensory stories and drumming sessions. While still shielding, the family rely on Sense to help support Megan through this difficult time.

We really hope that you decide to join us as a volunteer to enable us to continue to make a difference to children like Megan and her family - we are excited to hear from you!

Sense Community Fundraising

By becoming a member of Team Sense as a Community Fundraising volunteer, you join an incredible group of people who want to make sure that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Every member of Team Sense brings us closer to that goal and means we can reach more people every day.

Community fundraising is incredibly important to us for so many reasons; being out in local communities organising events and raising funds, talking about what we do, who we support and how much more we can achieve with more people joining us. Being the face and voice of Sense in your area is what community fundraising is all about.
