Role – Cashier
What better way to spend any spare time you have, and are kind enough to give us, than joining our shop team to help raise money through sales of donated items. This income helps sick, injured & homeless animals to gain a better quality of life through our innovative rehabilitation & re homing programme, as well as educational support for animal owners and many other elements to what we do.
The cashier role is an exciting opportunity for someone to gain and develop retail experience and personal confidence. Till operators work on a till serving customers and give customer service on the shop floor. For example helping them look for a specific item they would like.
If you enjoy being in a busy environment and like dealing with different people, this role could be just right for you.
The role involves the following
- Being polite and friendly with good customer service skills
- Using a computerised till system that has a barcode scanner
- Packing and wrapping purchases
- Taking payments, cash & card
- Able to work well in a team
- Tidying the shop floor when not busy
- Pricing donated goods on the till
- Asking donors and assisting them to sign up to the Gift Aid scheme
Skills and experience preferable
- Computer literate
- Good written and spoken English
- Reliable and punctual
- Positive and friendly manner
- Able to work as a part of a team as well as on your own

How many hours per week would i be required to volunteer?
We work around you!! You have been kind enough to give up your free time so all voluntary hours are negotiable. We trade 7 days per week and as such we do have shifts which require talent every day of the week.
