Spring Wood, Whalley, Ribble Valley, BB7 9DP - Spring Wood Support Volunteer
We are recruiting volunteers to support our small group of Monday volunteers at the Spring Wood Countryside site.
This ancient woodland, with Mays Bluebells, once belonged to Whalley Abbey with many tracks & pathways with views of Longridge & Waddington Fell at the summit.
Volunteers help keep the county's country parks, picnic sites, nature reserves and community woodlands looking their best. Under guidance from the Countryside Service, volunteers carry out small maintenance tasks such as planting and pruning, fixing fences, mending gates or signs, litter picking, as well as visitor guidance and information.
As a Lancashire Volunteer Partnership Volunteer, you'll only be required to do as little as up to 3 hours weekly, there's no pressure to commit lots of your time. We encourage local support as Countryside volunteers are usually people who live close to and visit their nearest site very frequently and have a sense of pride and ownership towards it, which is why they want to do their bit to keep it looking good.
Applicants should be aware maintenance of the local terrain can be in areas that are overgrown, steep, muddy, and volunteers must be capable of traversing those paths.
