Blackburn with Darwen – re:fresh

Wellbeing Walks Support/Leader

We are looking for a Wellbeing Walks Volunteer to assist at re:fresh to join their team of Activators in the delivery of low-level walking sessions across Blackburn with Darwen. Their wellbeing walks are a large part of our volunteer programme and offer a wide variety of options to explore our borough, whatever your ability. We have short, 30 minute health walks that are accessible for all as well as progression walks of up to 2 hours in length, plus a range of medium length walks set in the heart of communities. The aim is to offer something for all abilities and from a wide range of starting locations so that as many people as possible can access our walks. We are looking for motivated individuals to assist with some of our current walks or who would be looking to establish more community-based walks either in their area or beyond.

To have the physical capability to participate in the session – if you’re unsure of this, please contact The Wellbeing Service on 01254 682037 or email for more information.

What is re:fresh?

Their re:fresh team of Activators are dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of the people living and working in our borough. They are committed to increasing physical activity in any shape or form, whether it’s through our Get Active community sessions designed for beginners, their Exercise Referral Programme for those living with long term conditions, their focus on Learning Disabilities & Autism sessions that encourage exercise and social interaction, or by their 16-week structured Falls Prevention Programme. They have something for everyone to encourage people to move more.
