Talk English - Talk English Volunteer ESOL tutor
Service / Role Overview:
The Talk English project aims to improve the language skills of people with little or no English and give them the confidence to be more involved in the local community
Focusing on the things people need to do in their everyday lives, such as shopping, using public transport and using public services, you will help learners to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Talk English also takes place outside the classroom. We take learners to local parks, shopping centres, markets and places of interest so that they can practise their English in a variety of situations.
Volunteering as an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher is a great opportunity for you to gain experience and develop new skills while making a difference to people’s lives. By volunteering with Talk English you will gain experience of teaching, working as part of a team and working people from different parts of the world. You will also develop your communication, presentation and organisational skills.
