This opportunity is about saving items form the waste Stream that would be beneficial to others in need. 

Applicants must be able to use their own initiative to quickly process items saved from the waste stream that will benefit others in need.

Volunteering days and times: Wednesday or Thursday, 10:00am - 12:00 noon or 13:00 - 16:00

TASKS:

  • Assisting with the collections of reusable items from Farrington Household Waste Recycling Centre
  • Checking the suitability of all items segregated for Reuse and whether they comply with Health and Safety requirements and Trading Standard regulations
  • Preparing items for Reuse via activities such as cleaning, sorting, and repairing
  • Cataloguing and photographing reusable items before uploading them to our Reuse360 Hub website
  • Preparing orders for collection and/or delivery
  • There will also be opportunities to come along on our Reuse360 Hub pop-up events, where you can meet the people you are directly helping across Lancashire.

REQUIRED QUALITIES:

  • Self-motivated with a positive, can do attitude
  • Able to listen and take instruction
  • To be relatively fit and active
  • Practical and creative skills are welcome but not essential
  • Computer and IT skills are welcome but not essential

TRAINING:

Volunteers will be required to complete training modules before commencing any volunteering and update their qualifications as required.

Qualifications Required

  • Basic First Aid (Resuscitation) for Volunteers Must be Completed
  • Health & Safety for Volunteers Must be Completed
  • Moving and Assisting for Volunteers Must be Completed
  • Preventing Radicalisation (Basic Awareness) for Volunteers Must be Completed
