Get Set For Work Volunteer Support

Position overview:

Get Set for Work aims to provide young people aged 15-19 years with nationally recognised training, combined with integrated learning support measures and foundation skills, that will enable them to successfully transition to employment and/or further education and training.  As a volunteer you will support staff and students in a wide variety of activities.

Activities and tasks:

Duties will vary depending on the work area. Tasks may include:

  • Facilitate the delivery of specific employment and wellbeing programs to participants who may come from disadvantaged backgrounds;
  • Support the delivery of vocational training and assessment offered to participants to partner RTOs;
  • Assist course participants to transition into employment, further education and or re-engage back into traditional education or schooling upon completion of the Get Set for Work program
  • Work in a healthy and safe manner and encourage others to do the same; comply with all warning and safety signage; report or rectify any unsafe conditions; adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Skills and experience required:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
