Host a Foreign Exchange Student this summer

Bring Spain to YOU!

"Host a Student from Spain for Just a Few Weeks This Summer, and it Could Change Your Life - Forever!"

Becoming a Host Family is as Easy as 1-2-3!

And it really is like bringing Spain to you! All it requires from you is a desire to share a few weeks of your summer with a student from Spain (the age range is 13 to 18). As a Host Family, we ask that you provide food and lodging for your student and be willing to transport them to meet for scheduled English classes, activities, and day trips.

  1. English Classes: The students will attend classes 3 times a week and have an activity afterward. They also have 4 all day trips, San Francisco twice, Six Flags, and Sunsplash. As you can see the students are very busy while you might be at work. Host Families are welcome to join the activities but are not required to - but when you see the itinerary, you just might want to join in the fun.
  2. Transportation: Students will need a ride to central meeting places and to English classes, then we provide a bus for the transportation to the afternoon activities. We also provide transportation to our San Francisco trips and to Six Flags.
  3. Expenses: Entry fees/expenses to activities are paid in advance for the Spanish Students. Host Family members who join the trips or activities will be responsible for their own expenses, but will get the discounted rate we negotiate with the companies.

With just 5 months left, Debra Maginn, local Roseville resident and youth coordinator, is in great need of 65 American families to host high-school age students from Spain for only 3 weeks this summer.

Debra Maginn has been coordinating these groups for more than 7 years in the Roseville/Rocklin/Loomis/Lincoln/Newcastle and Auburn areas. "This is the most Spanish students who've asked to come to America this year," says Debra. "Word has gotten out how friendly our families are here!"

The students' English levels vary but generally speaking, their English skills are outstanding because they've been studying English since kindergarten. Additionally, the students are fully insured and will have their own spending money.

This is a great opportunity for students from other countries to come and experience a "true American". By immersing these students with American families, they can not only improve their English but also catch a glimpse of what being a real American is all about. It is also a perfect ambassador opportunity for us as Americans. Check out this short video explaining our programs: https://vimeo.com/58219496
