Teen Volunteers - Nature Summer Day Camp
Do you want to earn community service hours?
Do you want experience working with children?
Do you want to enrich your leadership skills?
Do you want to have fun and learn at the same time?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then consider helping out at Placer Nature Center this summer. We're looking for some fun-loving teens to help facilitate their Footsteps to Summer Fun nature day camp program!
Teen camp counselors guide the camp participants through nature investigations, nature games and crafts and lead nature songs and puppet shows for the children. Fun doesn't stop while learning about the natural environment.
The Footsteps to Summer Fun nature day camp runs throughout the summer from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during week long session. Teens can choose one or several weeks to help out.
A 2 day training workshop is required to become familiar with the camp activities, the nature trail and their roles as camp counselors.
Teen helpers must be 13 years or older to participate.
Last year’s teens contributed over 2000 volunteer hours in our most successful summer camp ever. If you can come to the training and are available to help out during one or more of these weeks, please call Linda at 530-878-6053 or email linda@placernaturecenter.org.
