Office & Administration - Nature Cybernauts (Bloggers, Posters & Profilers)

Placer Nature Center is need of net-savvy people who can help get the word out through cyber space. These roles are critical to Placer Nature Center’s survival. Our Nature Cybernauts can choose to do one or more of the following cyber space activities:

1) Cyber-Responder:
What – Read blogs and articles related to community, family and green lifestyles. Post and respond using knowledge received from Placer Nature Center and link back to our website or suggest upcoming events.
Why – This role is essential to raising community awareness of Placer Nature Center and the events and activities the center offers. It ensures a strong member base and helps to secure continued funding.
Where & How – Time required to be effective is 1-3 hours each week. This is primarily an independent position but has the opportunity to work jointly with the Executive Director and other office staff. Can be performed from home or from the computers at Placer Nature Center. If working from home, we recommend high speed internet, but it is not necessary.

2) Cyber-Poster:
What – Maintain local online calendar posts with events and pictures. Written material and images will be supplied, but there is opportunity for personal writing as well.
Why – This essential role keeps the community aware of upcoming events by posting on numerous local online calendars. Keeping the calendars updated ensures good turn out to Placer Nature Center events.
Where & How – Time required to be effective is 4 hours each month. This is primarily an independent position but has the opportunity to work jointly with the Executive Director and other office staff. Can be performed from home or from the computers at Placer Nature Center. If working from home, we recommend high speed internet, but it is not necessary.

3) Blogger :
What – Keep Placer Nature Center’s blogs up to date. Written material will be supplied, but there is opportunity for personal writing as well.
Why – This essential role helps maintain a strong web presence. More and more people spend more time online then they do outside, so that’s how we need to reach them. We have a lot of good information to share and we need your help to do it!

What – Keep Placer Nature Center’s online presence strong and up-to-date through various online profiles such as Meet-up, MySpace, Facebook and others.
Why – This essential role helps maintain a strong web presence. More and more people spend a lot of time online then they do outside, so that’s how we need to reach them. We have a lot of good information to share and we need your help to do it!
