Welcome to Catholic Charities Kennedy Institute!
We are excited to welcome you as a Tuesday morning Classroom Volunteer for the coming school year.
We hope you will enjoy volunteering and become attached to the students and never miss a Tuesday. You will be assigned a teacher and classroom where you will become a regular volunteer. The teacher will show you what to do and how to do it. Among the things you may be doing are:
- Setting up and putting away the materials for various learning activities
- Playing with the children
- Reading to the children
- Helping the teacher to organize a section of the classroom
Tips to Complete the Application
As you complete this application, you can enter your school's address. Please give us an email address that you check: it can be a personal address or a school address.
Since you are a high school student, we will ask you to download, complete and submit the Parent/Guardian Waiver so that we have contact information in the very unlikely event that we would need it. The form is attached to the application.
Once you begin volunteering, we'd like you log your hours. You can log your hours by turning on/off the time clock via the Better Impact app (find it in the app store) or you can go to the website and log the hours as you do them. It helps us as an organization to in a variety of ways -- program management, community outreach, etc. -- to be able to say that "we had x # of student volunteers serve x # of hours." Please log your hours!
