Attorney with Immigration Legal Services


Immigration Legal Services (ILS) focuses on the provision of direct legal immigration services to foreign‐born individuals and their families. ILS has represented individuals from more than 135 countries around the world needing legal assistance with an immigration matter.


Barred attorneys are needed to accept cases for clients with our Immigration Legal Services Program.  Attorneys will assist with applications for asylum, relief from removal, U visas, T visas, VAWA petitions and more for those in the community who need it most.

Attorneys will be responsible for:

  • Accepting pro-bono cases for clients within the Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services Program

Desired Skills, Experience & Characteristics:

  • Attorneys must be professionals in the legal field


  • Volunteers must be in good standing with the DC and/or MD Bar Association
  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older

Time Commitment:

  • Time commitment will vary depending on the professional’s availability

Location: Location will remote or the professional’s own office

  • Oct 26 - Nov 4: Attend Volunteer Orientation, complete screenings, and participate in program-specific initiation
  • Mid November:Begin volunteering!
