Food Bagging - Food Package Assembler

SHARE Food Warehouse has seen an increase in need due to the COVID-19 crisis and needs your help! Volunteers will assemble food packages for our neighbors in need at the SHARE Warehouse, while maintaining social distancing and safety practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Join us to care for food-insecure families and to support essential workers.

Food Package Assembly volunteers will:

  • Work a station in the food package assembly line
  • Assemble boxes, place food items in packages, pass it to the next station
  • Follow the protocol to replenish food supplies as they get used up
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Maintain special safety measures to mitigate COVID: wear gloves and face cover, occupy a given space, maintain at least 6’ distance from others, comply with directions from the safety monitor

Volunteer Qualifications:

  • Following CDC recommendations, we suggest all volunteers be between the ages of 18 and 65 years of age. High school students can participate if accompanied by an adult and they bring a Parent Guardian Waiver.
  • Pass health screening conversation 24 hours before service
  • Helpful and cooperative with a calm demeanor
  • Able to follow directions and maintain a safe environment
  • Able to stand for ~3 hours and lift ~20 pounds at a time

Safety Measures to mitigate spread of COVID-19:

  • Register online for a shift
  • Participate in phone health screening questions 24 hours in advance & upon arrival
  • Wear mask or face cover – bring your own
  • Wear gloves (provided)
  • Occupy a marked space, maintain physical distance
  • Follow staff/safety monitor’s instructions
  • Schedule volunteer shifts at least 14 days apart
