Transitional Rehabilitation Program - Job Readiness with TRP
Volunteer Project Description:
The Transitional Rehabilitation Program provides a maximum of six months of transitional rehabilitation services for up to 46 homeless single adult males from 18 years of age and older. The program aids clients in their recovery and search for permanent housing by offering access to mainstream programs and supportive services appropriate to the client’s individual needs.
Volunteers will work with residents to create resumes, practice interviews, and develop computer skills. A trained facilitator will also be there to lead the session and answer questions. Volunteers provide a needed service to help the TRP residents prepare for life after the program.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age and have at least one year of professional work experience to participate. Please feel free to bring snacks to share.
This opportunity takes place at the 801 East Men's Shelter located at 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE, Washington DC 20032.
