Special Volunteer Projects

Coat Closet - Coat Closet Set Up

Each winter, Catholic Charities collects and distributes hundreds of winter coats to give to people in need of a little extra warmth. This event is largely made possible by generous donations from local parishes, schools, community groups, and individuals. Volunteers are needed on the day of the event to help set up the Coat Drive and assist with the distribution to clients. Many hands make light work in this large-scale operation. Volunteers will organize coat donations by gender and size, hang up coats, clean, and create a welcoming shopping space for future shoppers.

Age Requirements: Volunteers under the age of 18 must bring a signed parent/guardian waiver (sent in the confirmation email). This year we will not permit any volunteers under the age of 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Catholic Charities follows CDC guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. All volunteers are expected to properly wear face masks, bring hand sanitizer, and maintain a 6 foot distance throughout the duration of the event.

**Please note that this event is subject to cancellation if there is a mandated stay at home order.**
