High School Programs - Student Service Leadership Fellowship

  1. Catholic Charities Student Service Fellows welcomes rising junior and senior high school students to apply for the one-week intensive experience doing service and planning to lead a project for your school during the 2024-2025 school year. 

The theme of Student Service Fellows Program is inspired by faith, we cultivate the courage to care and the strength to serve. The program will run June 24 – June 28, 2024. 

  1. Fellows' will:  

  • - serve with peers to do 3-6 projects at different Catholic Charities locations* 

  • - prepare to do service by  

  • - learning about the culture of Catholic Charities and Catholic Social Teaching,  

  • - the characteristics and needs of the people we serve,  

  • - and the procedures of volunteering 

  • - serve at one project with peers who participating in Catholic Charities Social Work Career Exploration Program and peers who are participating in Catholic Charities Peer Supports for Newcomer Families Program 

  • - explore how service is inspired by faith and, particularly, the principles of Catholic Social Teaching
  • - learn to incorporate reflection on their service experiences into leading their peers 
  • - meet and collaborate with Catholic Charities staff to carry out service projects 

  • - create a plan to lead their peers in service at Catholic Charities

  • *Please note: We will convene at Catholic Charities locations near the Brookland, Gallery Place, and Columbia Heights metro stations. Students need to be able to get to these locations.
