NEW!!! September 7, 2019 (Volunteer Shift 8:30 am – 2:00 pm): The Downtown to Defiance Ride takes place on Saturday, September 7 from 9-2. This is a free event for people to walk, bike, skate, scooter, roll, cycle, etc down the Tacoma waterfront for almost 7 miles. The ride will take place in Ruston Way and we will meet up at the Marine Park next to the Lobster Shop.

NEW!!! August 24, 2019 (Volunteer Shift 9:30 am – 2:00 pm): Join the Grit City Chain Breakers Cycling Club in a summer ride at Swan Creek! Meet up location is Lister Elementary school.

Cycling Info: Adaptive Recreation will be bringing a variety of cycles, including adult and youth handcycles, upright tandems, recumbent trikes, and upright trikes. We would love to have your help assisting athletes with their cycles and empowering them to get through this ride.

Please note that a background check is required for these activities.

 

MAJOR TAYLOR ADAPTIVE BIKE CLUB- FOSS HIGH SCHOOL

Volunteer Shift is Wednesdays 2:00 PM- 4:30 PM

Meet at Foss High School parking lot by the skate park. Look for the Metro Parks van and tent. Bring a water bottle and be ready to help out with high school students on various adaptive cycles.

SWAN CREEK – ROAD 6/8 Volunteer Shift is 9:30 AM-12:30PM “Spin Swan Creek”

We have a variety of cycles available for use, including adult and youth handcycles, upright tandems, recumbent trikes and upright trikes. Meet at the Lister Elementary Parking lot to explore the flat paved trails at Swan Creek Park. This ride is suitable for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and sunscreen.

SWAN CREEK- OFF ROAD 6/8 Volunteer Shift is 12:30PM-3:30PM “Shred Swan Creek”

We have a variety of cycles available for use, including adult and youth handcycles, upright tandems, recumbent trikes and upright trikes. Meet at the Lister Elementary parking lot to get a workout in under the trees in the Cross country trails at Swan Creek. This ride is suitable for all suitable for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and sunscreen.

FT STEILACOOM- ROAD 6/22 Volunteer Shift is 9:30 AM-12:30 PM “Biking with the birds”

We have a variety of cycles available for use, including adult and youth handcycles, upright tandems, recumbent trikes and upright trikes. Meet next to the dog park at Ft Steilacoom Park for a flat pedal around the lake. This ride is suitable for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and sunscreen and bring your binoculars!

FT STEILACOOM- OFF-ROAD 6/22 Volunteer Shift is 12:30PM-3:30PM “Cross Country Cruise”

We have a variety of cycles available for use, including adult and youth handcycles, upright tandems, recumbent trikes and upright trikes. Meet next to the dog park at Ft Steilacoom to explore the flat cross country trails. This ride is suitable for all fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothing and sunscreen.
