County Partners - Natural Resources - 10.8: Buckthorn Removal and Wildflower Planting in Mendota Heights
Volunteers will work alongside Great River Greening staff to remove invasive buckthorn and plant native shrubs and wildflowers at Copperfield Ponds Park in Mendota Heights. Native plants encourage wildlife and pollinators to return to this location and suppresses the growth of invasive plants.
This is a family-friendly event. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary, we will provide the tools and training required.

- Open to all ages, corporate groups, families, etc.
Minimum Time Commitment
Active – Event includes varying amounts of activity (long walks, rough terrain, and moderate physical exertion. May not be recommended for volunteers with physical limitations. Comfortable, sturdy shoes recommended.
