Thompson County Park - 6.20: Summer Solstice Party Event Volunteer

 

General Description

Summer is here, and we’re kicking things off with live music, yard games, food and fun. This community event is conducted bilingually in both English and Spanish. Volunteers support county staff to ensure that this event is a success. Volunteers are needed for item setup and takedown, greeting duties and event assistance. Volunteers will get a food voucher to exchange for a free meal from one of the event food trucks as a special thank you.

Thursday, June 20

Volunteer time: 5:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Event time: 6:00 - 9:03 p.m. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Event Set Up - Help set up our performance pop up tent, set out event signage, parking cones, and more 
  • Event Greeters/Ushers - Bring your lawn chair and help greet event attendees, help direct those with mobility support, and other general event assistance.
  • Event Take-down - Help event staff with event take-down.

 

Minimum Requirements

Must be 16 years old or older to volunteer without adult supervision. Any volunteer under 16 can still volunteer with adult supervision present. 

 

Minimum Time Commitment

4.5 hours 

 

Activity Level

Medium - May include walking short distances over relatively level terrain. Setting up and moving tents, tables, and chairs required for set-up and take-down. Periods of standing, sitting, and lifting will be required. Comfortable shoes recommended.
