General Description

Confirm that books can be found by staff and other patrons! Double check the organization of the book shelves in the library. Are the nonfiction books in proper, numerical Dewey Decimal Order? Are the Fiction books properly alphabetized by the author's last name? You can help make your local library neat and in order, something we all appreciate.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Confirm that books are in order
  • Double check organization of materials

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 12 years old or older to volunteer without adult supervision

 

Minimum Time Commitment

Varies by volunteer and the library’s needs

 

Activity Level

Mild - May include walking short distances over relatively level terrain. Location is accessible. Periods of standing or sitting will be required. Comfortable shoes recommended.

 

Required Training

Library staff will train all Adopt-a-Shelf volunteers - it's quick and painless!
