General Description

Help our kids get hooked on fishing fun! With support from event staff, help our little anglers with baiting hooks, untangling lines, and taking off fish! Some basic fishing experience is helpful but not required (we will show you the ropes) and no fishing license is needed. Dress for the weather, you’ll be outside in full sun by the lake. Lunch will be provided with vegetarian and gluten free options available.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist participants with fishing on the fishing dock – tying knots, hooking fish, baiting hooks, taking fish off the hook, etc.
  • Assist event staff as needed
  • Help participants practice safe dock and fishing manners
  • Control crowd flow while on the dock  

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 16 or older (15 and under can volunteer with an adult)
  • Event will be outside
  • Must enjoy working with people
  • Fishing knowledge (basic) is required

 

Minimum Time Commitment

4 hours

 

Activity Level

Easy - May include light work or walking short distances over relatively level terrain. Comfortable shoes recommended.
