Lebanon Hills Regional Park - 10.26: Halloween Family Fun Volunteer Day - Native Planting at Jensen Lake Trailhead
General Description
Come help the Dakota County Natural Resources team plant native plants in a new pollinator garden near Jensen Lake in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. All plants and guidance will be provided. Get ready to dig and get a little dirty as you do some great work for our local park system. This is a great project for families and groups.
Wear Your Favorite Costume! Since we are so close to Halloween, come in your favorite costume to show off at the event. Halloween treats (and maybe a few tricks) will be available to everyone who attends and helps out.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Plant native plants in a park setting
- Water new plants as needed
- Help spread mulch and other post planting activities
- Additional groundwork and prep work
Minimum Qualifications
- Able to attend the full event
- Must be able to walk on uneven terrain and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be OK with getting a little dirty and being outside in nature
- Volunteers younger than 16 years old must volunteer with an adult present
Minimum Time Commitment
2 hours
Activity Level
Moderate - Includes working off pathways or trails on uneven surfaces or walking short distances over various terrain. You will be working outside in the elements, so please dress accordingly. Comfortable shoes and anti-bug clothing recommended.
Required Training
Training will be offered at the start of the event.
