Alexandra District Parents Centre

Organisation Summary
Alexandra District Parents Centre is part of a nationwide voluntary organisation set up by parents for parents.
We are a friendly group whose aim is to support parents in the community and offer fun learning and social activities for them and their children to enjoy.

Parents Centres share a vision of New Zealand being a society that values parenting as being fundamental to the well being of all members of society and believe that parenting creates the environment that sews the fabric of our social structure. Our education, support and services are focused on driving that vision.

Our mission is to bring about a society in which parents are highly valued in their role in the community through positive birth experiences and informed parenting and advocacy.

Parents Centre run several events throughout the year that require assistants.  Usually these are events such as the Teddy Bears Picnic, Miniature train adventure day, Monster market, bike park, ice-skating / curling etc...

Tasks can include planning, gaining sponsorship, face painting, childrens entertainers and/or supervisors, bbq planning + cooking, baking, collecting donations, selling raffles tickets etc.

There is something for everyone.  We would love to hear from you if you are keen to help out at our next event :-) Children always welcome.
