Teaching / Tutoring / Assisting - Scouting Associate
The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Laws, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.
We believe that through adventure we challenge individuals so that they learn and experience new things that enrich their lives. We bring to life a world of adventure – creating incredible learning opportunities for members of all ages.
If you are unable to commit to volunteering with SCOUTS NZ on a regular basis you can become a Scouting Associate. Volunteers can help out with a project or activity the matches their personal skill set and contribute towards particular projects.
Volunteers can assist in activities and events like Mudslide Day, SCOUTS Adventure schools, help organise events, recruit new volunteers and youth members, and help with fundraising or even maintenance on equipment.
Located in Alexandra, Cromwell, Queenstown, Arrowtown and Wanaka.
Flexible commitment although volunteers need to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per year.
Skills depend on what activity the volunteer selects to participate in however volunteers will need to be team players that demonstrate honesty and integrity.
There are various leadership development programmes available to our volunteers dependent on their level of commitment. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to meet new people and gain satisfaction knowing their contribution is benefiting the young members.
